Miss Clarabelle is now eight months old!
And what a joy-filled eight months it has been!
As suspected, Clara picked up the hands and knees crawling and we hardly have seen any army crawling these last few weeks. I so love hearing her chubby little hands pat-pat-patting on the floors.
She also figured out how to get from hands and knees into a sitting position. And just in the last two weeks has started pulling herself up to standing if she has the right hand holds. Chairs - great for this, couches - not quite yet.
Since Clara wasn't seeming to be a fan of laying on the floor for her monthly photos I tried to get some of her sitting up with her blanket as a backdrop, but she decided that she'd rather just play with the blanket. Fair enough.
To accompany last month's skill of waving and saying Hi, she can say byebye now too. That one sounds like buhbuh and she'll use it on a whim, not consistently to say goodbye.
This past month Clara:
- Started knocking over towers
- Loves playing peekaboo
- Has become sensitive to loud noises
- Was doted on when we had family visit
- Went on her third road trip
- Started sleeping better in the evenings, but still joins Mom and Dad in their bed from midnight to morning
- Developed an interest in books
Clara is up at 22 pounds now. She has adorable thigh rolls and folds in her wrists. Now that she's eating more and more table food I have to remember to wash under her neck after eating because she's got a fold there too. We love our chunky girl!
And if I remember to measure her height in the next few days I'll edit that in here too. I probably should because I haven't in a long time.
I think it's safe to say that cheese has booted banana out of its top spot in Clara's menu. Blueberries are pretty high up there too.
Got her first tooth and then one week later, yesterday, popped a second one. The first tooth showed up without much fuss, the second one she really worked hard for. Poor girl. I'm curious to see how the rest of our teething journey goes...
Clara brings such delight to our lives and we thank the Lord for the gift that she is to our family.
