WWW: Caught in a Thunderstorm

 Wednesday:
Playing chess with William is getting more and more fun each time. There is still some learning to do but I am pretty impressed with his skills for having only just turned five.

While some might find lake front property desirable, we, 9km from the nearest lake, do not. With the snow gone and the ground thawed Will has been levelling out our yard in hopes of mitigating the pooling water.

On Wednesday evening we were treated to a hail storm! The kids were very entertained by it all bouncing everywhere and even ran outside to catch a few of the balls.

Some evenings Clara fails to get the memo that bedtime means sleeping. She was wide awake as we were going to bed at midnight, ready to party.

Thursday:

Will gave the trailer a bath on Thursday which had the kids following him from window to window all around watching the excitement.

I was adamant about getting out on a walk on Thursday and it kept not working during the day so once we finished dinner we got ready to head out for a bit. And right as we were putting our shoes on it started to rain. But I pushed us all out the door anyway, promising everyone it would blow over quickly, as the evening rain clouds typically do.
It poured the whole time we were walking and we were on our way back as we heard thunder begin to rumble and the rain came down even harder.

As our house came into sight up the road the rain started to let up, of course, and we had a good laugh about it. We watched the thunder clouds pass by beside us and as the rain slowed this was our view to our left...

...and this to the right!
So beautiful and an insane contrast!

And we came home to a rainbow which was a very special way to end the day.

Sunday:
We went to a friends house on Sunday and they had more baby rabbits

Very cute and snuggly at 2 weeks old

Clara was really excited about them too

Monday:
I taught Delilah how to make word search puzzles to give to her friends. Something that I used to do for one of my friends when I was younger so this felt special to get to see her enjoying too

Baking late into the evening to make sure there's a snack for us tomorrow.

Tuesday:
I was working in the kitchen on Tuesday morning and Clara was a bit clingy so I put her on my back and she fell right asleep! She hadn't been awake for too long yet (it was only 9:15 or so) so she surprised us

Now at the end of Tuesday, Delilah got to wake Clara up from her nap and she was so bight eyed and full of joy to see everyone again. Clara was hanging onto her lamb's ear which Delilah thought was adorable. And I'd have to agree, it was very cute.

I was talking with someone a few weeks ago and they said that soup season is over for their family. Which is sad to me. I definitely make soup more often in the winter months, but it's still a weekly meal over at our house. Even through the summer.
