Clara: 1 Year!

Our dear little Clarabelle hit 12 months old which also means she is one year old! What a joy-filled year it has been with the addition of Clara to our family. She gets many compliments on being always smiling, and while she does have a big grin readily available I do remind folks that she can have her clingy moments. But on a whole Clara is a very happy girlie and we love her to bits.

12 things about Clara at 12 months

She thinks that Mom and Dad's bed is the best and has slept in it every single night of her life so far. From day one until now.

She loves playing with sticks and rocks and splashing in water.

Will get very mad if she thinks for any reason that we are going to play outside and then don't. Or if we come inside when she isn't ready to be in yet.

She absolutely loves her daddy and can be quite possessive of him when he gets home from work.

She thinks Delilah's room is super cool and always wants to be up there playing with Delilah's things and doing girl stuff.

Clara is an animal lover. Dogs are a favourite, especially big ones that are the perfect height for her to wrap her little arms around their neck in a big hug. And she loves our Mozzy who is very kind and patient with her... most of the time... She is sporting a scratch under her eye in these photos that was a result of her pulling at his ears too hard for his liking. Another animal that Clara has grown found of are the Schoutens' chickens which she's always toddling out of our campsite to go and visit.

Clara loves her cow milk which she gets a cup of at supper. She gets very excited when she sees the cups and/or milk jug out and she will protest loudly if she is not the first table guest to be served a cup of milk.

She is 22 pounds and ***** tall. She wears 18m clothing for the most part.

At 12 months old Clara isn't super into food. We're still nursing a decent amount, mostly on demand and before naps and bedtime. She does really love having yogurt in a food pouch and if she's going to have a snack it's best to be in a snack bowl, just like the big kids. She likes cheese, and will usually pick out her meat before eating carbs.

Not really any new words from her except we have heard her a few times say Yiya, or Diyiya for Delilah.

She has her fifth and sixth teeth coming through in the last few days and thankfully they don't seem to be bothering her. So that gives her four top teeth and two bottom teeth.

Clara loves to play peekaboo and to clap and give high fives
