Bread, Stars, Red Coats and Blood

Mom bought a bread machine this morning while shopping for living room chairs.
So this afternoon I tried to make some bread.
It didn't end up working, because it wasn't a wheat-free recipe, and I didn't use wheat flour.
In the end it rose about half a cenimeter (in other words, not at all) and was very hard and crumbly
kinda like when you make cement.
but at least it made the house smell good
Me and Mom have been working on this kingsized bed quilt for... I don't know.... about three years
this afternoon  from 3-6:30 we worked like crazy and got the blocks finished.
Now we just have to sew the blocks to gether and add a border and backing
the coach found a temporary place in the front hall
Matthew and Peter have been working on this "fort" for the past 4 or 5 hours
I found out that they are the Red Coats, fighting Julius Caesar's German army
:)
This is their tank disguised as a tree
and a gun that looks like a bush

You must remember that a good deal of imagination is necessary to have the whole game working.

You might wonder where the blood comes into this happy picture of homemade bread and playing pretend.
Well every thing was happy until "other" people joined the game.
In the end Ethan had a slash on his leg from getting hit with a hockey stick while sitting on Peter
and Nadia got hit on the arm.
At first Peter thought that he hit her on the back, and he burst into tears and ran to his room
Nadia was rushed into the kitchen while I looked for ice to put on her back,
I never did find any so we settled for frozen bacon :)
After she was given her soother and a few chocolate chips she was as happy as could be
Peter however was still bawling (poor guy).
Now Nadia comes up to me saying  "Ow ow ow" in a really cute voice
all she wants are "tisses" to make it all better.
:)
