What Happened On 203 Street

It was a dark and stormy afternoon,
lightning flashed,
and thunder clapped,
as our bus pulled to a stop at an intersection at 203 street.
Slater had just stepped off the bus,
when suddenly,
we went over a speed bump.
But we weren't moving....
"Oh no!" Exclaimed Trevor our bus driver,
"Did we just get hit?"
"I don't know," Every one replied.
and then looking behind us,
we saw the white roof of a  BMW.
Where is was the rest of the vehicle you might ask.
Well,
it was under the bus.

Looking something like this:
Why hello little car
I don't think you belong there....

The back wheels of the bus were wedged into the air,
and we could feel the bus slowly rolling forward when we moved around.
No one was hurt.
And it was completely the lady's fault,
she was texting and driving.
How in the world can you miss a huge, yellow, flashing school bus that is stopped?

Yesterday we didn't get home until just after 5:30.
:(
But the thunderstorm was really neat to watch,
and the reaction of all the passerby's
as we were waiting for an hour
for the okay to leave from the medics,
and then after that from the FD.
And then the RCMP,
who said we could leave so we all started getting off the bus
(with it's back wheels still off the ground)
but then they marched us back onto the bus
just to tell us we could leave...

Note to everyone:
Don't text and drive while there is a school bus in front of you.
The people on the bus who are hungry, have to go pee, have to get to work, do newspapers, etc
would all appreciate it if they weren't stuck, suspended in the air for an hour
while you were bawling your eyes out the the RCMP officer claiming that you didn't see the bus....
no duh you didn't see it
you were looking at you phone.
