Scotch Creek

We didn't take many pictures while camping at Scotch Creek. But we had excellent weather and were able to go to the beach every single day to enjoy the sun. :)

Campfires were banned during our entire camping trip. Quite a few of our family members had propane fires and we used those when we had the opportunity, but when we didn't have access to a fire pit we managed to make marshmallow roasting work on our own.

#beetlepop
The first night we stayed here we noticed that there were tons of these flying beetles everywhere. They were attracted to light and got really annoying once the sun went down. So while playing cards with the cousins we began to collect these beetles and put them in a pop can. The next night and the following night we proceeded to continue catching the beetles and adding them to the can. Then on the third night we put the pop can on a stick and held it over the fire, the beetles began to stick something very horribly rancid and then they popped. It was kinda cool, but cruel.

This is Micah's new best friend, H.
yeah....
long story short,
Micah's invited to his next birthday party
and H's mom is creeped out by us.....

This is Carlos. Maybe his name isn't Carlos, but I named him that while we ate ice cream and listened to him play guitar and sing. ps, Can you see H in the background, his little red helmet is just sticking out.... The fact that we came for ice cream while H was having ice cream contributed to the fact that his mother is a little wary of us. I don't blame her
One night, my little cousins were drawing on my arms, then they ran out of arms to draw on, so they asked to do my make up. I thought that would be a nice thing for them to do, and who knows, maybe it'll look alright. But nope. Not even close. But hey, it was fun, and gave them something to do, and I at least felt pretty.....
The first day we were at Scotch Creek we raided the park store and bought out their glow stick stock with the intention of night swimming, but due to a lot of things that didn't happen until the second last day. We tried our best to be sorta quiet so that we wouldn't get kicked out of the beach, but as we were walking back to the camp site we over heard some campers complaining to a park ranger about a loud party at the beach. So we just quietly walked by, with O Canada being sung in Swedish accents stuck in our heads for no apparent reason.

This is just such a wonderful picture, hey?  The camera was practically dead and I couldn't have it turned on long enough to change the settings, so I ended up with this picture....
Campfire with family, friends, and the families of friends
And the last night we went stargazing while listening to music.
lots of fun
