I got this strange coin from a vending machine at school. I don't exactly know where it's from or what it could be worth, but it looks cool and it qualifies for my 26th day of the photo challenge which was a close up of something.
You got me curious so I looked it up. Apparently it's a Thai coin worth one "baht" or 0.039 Canadian Dollars. The symbol is of a bird-like creature in Hindu/Buddhist mythology.
oh cool!!! That's neat to know. So it is almost similar to our penny. I am amazed that you were able to find its worth online. I was thinking of looking it up, but I can't read foreign lettering like that and I didn't think I'd be able to find the symbol of the animal. But good for you!
Thanks :) Eventually I got desperate and looked up "Buddha bird" :P Do you think someone used it to get pop because it's similar in size to a Canadian coin?
