The Road Less Traveled By

{Luke 6:37-38}

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged.

Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.

Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Give, and it will be given to you...

For with the measure you use, it will be measured for you."

The picture below (which you shouldn't look at yet, just wait a few moments) was taken by Colter Louwerse, a member of Flint and Feather. He was recently in Israel and took many wonderful and horrific pictures.

Colter experienced and witnessed threats, persecution and riots at a very personal level and had this explanation for this picture he took
(which you can now look at after reading the first line, but please take a minute to look at the picture);

"[This is t]he route Palestinian children take to get to school each day.

The garbage strewn path on the left of the fence is designated for Palestinians.

The path on the right is for Israelis.

Apartheid."

This picture (along with many others) caught my eye because when it is first looked at it seems peaceful in a way.

   - Don't you think it looked nice at first?

The sun shines on rows upon rows of houses while a colourful bush blooming along the side of a path way contrasts nicely with the green paint on the barricades.

Really, it does look almost pleasant, but then the viewer notices the trashy walkway off to the left. The building which is falling apart and in need of maintenance; and finally, the barbed wire fence might come into focus, which you know is there to separate the beholder from getting close to either trail.

Coming to the realization that the two pathways are not just an old and a new, but a lesser and a greater, disgusts me greatly.

I had tons more written up about this, but I think I've been rambling too long already. :) So this shall be it. Just please love your neighbours
