Ben's Birthday - Sorta

Ben likes to raise his eyebrows.
And when he does his whole forehead wrinkles.
And it's super, darn cute.

Another Pro/Con that we're noticing now that we're settling more into our new neighborhood is our church community. Or maybe I should say that we're noticing the lack of said community in the event of a pregnancy/newborn.
But in replace of that, we have been blessed with an abundance of love and support from family and friends in the near by area.
So many people have offered to help babysit, carpool and make meals.
It truly is something for us to be thankful for.
Honorary mention goes out to Auntie Alice & Family, Jake L & Fam, Rose F & Family, and our dear Oma.

Dinner tonight was specially made for us by the Jake L family.
For desert we had jello complete with Ben's initials written in whip cream on the top.
Turns out, today is Ben's first week of being home, and his 8th day breathing.
So we had a little party (there were only 5 of us home) and a 0 years old cake smash.
We figured if people do 1 year old cake smashes, why can't we do a 1 week old one?
He wasn't too sure what exactly to do...

Nadia didn't want him to wreck his initials.

In the end Dad stuck whip cream on his nose and we ate up all the jello.

It was yummy!

  1. Great photos! But I must comment. Your comment about the lack of community is not true. We have been very much welcomed to this new community and have experienced numerous warm wishes in the form of congratulations, support, cards, telephone calls and meals. Granted these do not always come directly to you, but as parents, we receive these regularly. We are grateful for the support the church provides. - Dad
