Monday started off a little later than we were planning.
Why get up at 6am for a road trip when you can sleep in until 10?
Great question, and that's why we didn't kick off our holiday Monday until later on in the morning.
We drove to Hope to check out the Othello Tunnels.
Neither of us could remember ever going there, and we had a really enjoyable time wandering around.
Apparently we missed the memo that most people walk through all the tunnels, and then turn around and walk back through everything to the parking lot.
So when we finished walking through all the tunnels, we just kept on walking down the path.
We came to a sign which said the road was straight ahead, the parking lot was off a side trail, and the tunnels were behind us.
Well, we wanted the parking lot, so we followed that trail.
Little did we know it was a real hike.
And we weren't prepared for a real hike.
Will kindly dragged/encouraged me on this hour long excursion as we climbed switch back after switch back.
Without any water, without proper shoes (we both had slip-on sneakers), and with no idea as to how long this hike would be.
But we made it.
It was very exciting when we began the decent and when we were able to catch glimpses of the parking lot through the trees!
