The Hike That Was. Then Wasn't. And Then Half Was.

Well, we had a 4hr hike planned for today with a group of friends.
When we left the house at 9 this morning it was a balmy 14℃ with a promising weather forecast for the rest of the day.

As we were driving out of Langley we saw dark skies and rain clouds ahead.
Soon it was raining, then slushing, and snowing.

By the time we reached the trail head it was raining off and on, and there were frigid cold winds blowing through the trees.
Our poor babies were under dressed and we assumed it would not get any warmer as we got higher into the mountains.
(See that Delilah is wearing two pairs of pants?)

We were still waiting for one more person to arrive and then were going to choose what our plan of action would be.
No one had rain jackets. The babies would be too cold. Should we go or not?

The decision was made that the moms would head back home with the babies, everyone else would go on the hike and carpool their ways home.
We were all just about to go our separate ways when Bryan locked his keys in his car.

After digging through all our vehicles and asking other people in the parking lot if they had any items to offer, we found some ladies (who just so happened to have a prom dress in the back of their car) who gave us a multi clip metal hanger to use. It took three guys, prying the door open with an ice-scrapper, a re-fashioning of the small hanger, and 15 minutes, but they finally got the door open!
Our group and those around in the parking lot all cheered and applauded.

I'm not sure how Will and the rest of the group is faring, but it's been thundering here at home...
