Eleven Months!

At eleven months we no longer get to see many pictures of Delilah that are in focus. Such a thing is merely a novelty for our family at this point.

Delilah sure has grown in this past month! I know that each time I do these monthly updates there are a couple of things that I miss... It's just about impossible to record every new concept that she learns but here are a few things to note:

Dee has started arching her back and flailing when she's not getting her way (if we put her in her carseat when she doesn't want to go out).
Along with the flailing, she HATES having her diaper and clothes changed. All the protesting and fighting she does makes the process ten times longer and then she gets even more worked up! 😛
She'd much rather just crawl around naked.

She exaggerates when inhaling for fun 😝
She plays on her own so well! For so long!
She loves building block towers and then knocking them down.
She loves reading whatever sort of books she can find.
She loves her doll, "Baby" and will hold Baby as she leans over the rocking chair ottoman and rocks back and forth.

She sticks her hands out when we say, "Wash hands."
And buries her face in her arm when we say, "Wash face."

At the beginning of September I cut her down to four nursing feeds: 7am, 12pm, 7pm, and whenever she'd wake up in the middle of the night, usually between 3-5am. BUT she started sleeping straight from 7pm to 7am! It used to happen that she'd sleep straight through the night roughly once a week, but now she'll wake up mid-slumber about once a week! No complaints from me!
So she was mostly down to three nursing feeds, but I've switched her to a bottle of milk with her lunch and am just nursing her 7am and 7pm.

Remember that huge thunder storm we had on Sept 7? We had lightening strike into the grass a few feet from our house and the house was shaking from the thunder, yet Delilah slept right through the whole thing.

As much as she likes her sleep, she's started napping on her own terms. Some days no nap, some days a short nap, or maybe a long one. Some days two naps and who knows how long they'll be. It can be frustrating some times, but it's also nice not always worrying about being home for her to nap at 10am and 2pm.

We've discovered that Delilah has a skin reaction to cheese and curry. Two things that we'll have to keep an eye out for and work on reintroducing further down the road.

If we're having chicken pasta for dinner Delilah will first eat all her chicken and then pick away and whatever else is left.
If we have rice and beef she'll happily eat them together.
If we're having beef pasta she'll first go for the pasta.

But we had burritos last week and we gave her rice, chicken, and black beans. She picked out all the black beans, completely ignored the chicken, and then wanted more beans and cried when we made her eat her chicken first!
I feel as though I have to do a black bean vs. yam face off to see if she likes them more than her beloved yams.

Delilah has a little hair brush, which, ironically, she loves! She loves smacking it on things to make loud noises, but she also will brush her head with it. It's so cute and adorable! Especially since there's not much hair there for her to brush!

Teething is still a slow process, but she has cut a second tooth! Maybe we can work on one a month now.
