Girl vs Pinterest: Apple Fritter Loaf Edition

I came across this recipe for an apple fritter loaf and decided to give it a try!
I really love the apple fritters from Tim Horton's and was hoping that this recipe would somewhat resemble those flavours. With all of this self-isolation stuff going on I don't get out very often, which means I'm snacking at Tim's even less than normal!

This apple fritter loaf, while it is delcious, is nothing like an apple fritter from Tim Horton's...
Which was a sad discovery.
But I think the airy-ness and deepfried taste of the apple fritter is hard to replicate in a loaf.

It didn't taste bad. It actually reminded me lots of my grandma's apple cake. And I'll probably make it again too.
I'm just warning you that if you bake this recipe with the end goal of Tim Horton's apple fritter you will be disappointed.

Ingredients:
Bread Loaf
1/2 cup butter softened
2/3 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup milk

Topping
1/3 cup light brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Chopped Apple Mixture
2 large apples any kind, peeled and chopped small, but not fine. Then toss apples with 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon just before adding it to the bread mixture.

Glaze
1/2 cup of powdered sugar
1-3 tablespoons of milk or cream

Instructions:
- Whisk together butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla.
- Sift in flour and baking soda.
- Stir in milk, and combine all ingredients together well. Set aside.
- In another bowl stir together sugar and cinnamon for topping. Set aside.
- Cut apples. In another bowl mix together apples, cinnamon, and sugar.
- Poor half of batter into greased loaf pan, top with half the apple mixture, and then sprinkle with the topping.
- Poor remaining batter, and top with remaining apples and topping. Pat apples down.
- Bake at 350℉ for 50-70 minutes - until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let cool before making glace and icing the loaf.

SO GOOD!
