Little William's Baptism

On Sunday, June 14th, Will and I were honoured to present our son, William, to receive the sign and seal of holy baptism.

COVID-19 has got us changing how we do a lot of things. Baptisms included.
In Canadian Reformed churches the baptism of children of believers is ordered to take place as soon as feasible. So we are used to seeing 1-2 week old babes being presented, yet Little William's was postponed until he was 12 weeks old.

Although we would have loved to fill the church with our family and friends, have cake and coffee afterwards, and pass our little guy around for all to see, we sadly couldn't. Not only did social distancing rules hinder us, but also our church building is restricted to just 50 people.
This was a very special day for us and while we wished to be surrounded by those close to us we also want to respect the guidelines put forth by our local government regarding the current pandemic.

Little William was so happy!

Even before he was born and the coronavirus was a thing, I had wanted him to be swaddled in this blanket. But we could only sorta drape it around him as he was too large to be wrapped in it.

The poor guy wasn't warned about having water poured on his head and he didn't like it one bit!

The classic "Let's try to take a family picture even though Delilah won't cooperate" pose

What!?!?! A family picture where Delilah is SMILING?!?!?
You've seen it here first!
(Also, peep at that baby belly popping out under his shirt)

"The Lord is good, and evermore
His love and mercy will endure.
All generations He will bless
in His unchanging faithfulness."
Ps 100
