Delilah's First Berry Picking

There's a blueberry patch just down the road from our place and when we drove past it earlier this week Will suggested that we go berry picking with Delilah. So yesterday we had dinner as soon as Will got home from work and then headed out!

Delilah did surprisingly well with knowing to pick the ripe berries, and anytime she picked a green berry she would get all panicky and not know what to do with it.
It was adorable.

Less than ten minutes into our picking:
Will: I accidentally gave Delilah a berry.
Me: Accidentally? Whadaya mean?
Will: To eat. Now she's just pulling them off the bush to eat. She won't put any in the bucket!

"Yum, Yum!"

And I tried very hard to get a picture with Will, which he tried very hard to ruin.
Boxing me out, pulling branches in the way, and ignoring the camera were all popular tactics this evening.

Here I'm tickling him but he's still doing a decent job of holding a smile in.

Finally! Cooperation on his part!
Now if only I would learn to stop talking mid-photo 😜

Little William was quite done with his parents antics at this point

I wrapped Delilah in and said "Let's take a picture!"
She instantly bolted and said "No! Bers! Bers!" which is what she calls blueberries.
So we all know where her priorities are.
