Why Are We Moving?

We've been at our new place almost every day (except Sunday) since we got the keys! Bringing boxes over, planning how we'll do the layout, and cleaning so we can unpack.
This morning I finished cleaning the bathroom and kitchen and unpacked four boxes!
And here's a sneak peak into our new place! You can see two things in this picture that were on our 'What we want in our new place' list. 😄 Can you guess what they are?

Why are we moving?
Short answer: It was time.

Long answer: (buckle up)
2020 is not exactly going the way anyone was counting on it to go.

As I've mentioned before, we were anticipating living at my parents house from May-August and then moving in September into another rental suite. And we were hoping to have the opportunity to really get ahead in our financial game by those two moves taking place.
But as with just about everything else these days, our plans got upset. So Will and I found ourselves sitting around a restaurant table, calendars out, looking at rental listings, reviewing the rental tenancy act, making calculations, and dreaming about the future of our family.

We've known since we moved into this basement suite that it was not our forever home.
Yes it has beautiful living room windows.
Yes, we could fit eight kids in the second bedroom.
And yes, this location is good for a lot of things.
But we agreed that continually running out of water, having constant power surges, the noise from the water pump, the lack of privacy, and the cost of rent are not sustainable for our family, especially as it continues to grow.
The list of pros just don't out-weigh the list of cons to make sense for us to stay.

By making this move we will be able to cut back on 55.55% of our rent/utilities expenses! And that doesn't even include the money we'll be saving by going back to having only one vehicle!

Although our original plan got thrown out the window, we believe that God's got us in his hands and whatever is meant to be will work out perfectly. We just need to be patient, hopeful, and trust that our prayers are heard.
