Little William: 6 Months Old!

The feature photo for this monthly update is taken on our living room floor. Because that's typically where you'll find Little William if he's awake. He can sit up like a total champ and if I give him a few toys he is so content to play on his own until he gets tired or hungry. If something is out of reach, or he gets bored, the handy-dandy 'Roll and Scooch' technique comes into play and he's well on his way to finding greener grass.

Little William gives such precious solid baby snuggles when he's tired, but if he's awake he wants to be where the action is! I have such a difficult time nursing him if there are other people in the room because he just wants to visit.
We took him along with us to Will's work dinner and was the life of the party, smiling at anyone making eyes with him across the table.

Some firsts from the past month:
 - Moved to a new house
-Went to the mall for his first time (I think we had taken Delilah when she was only 4 or 5 days old - Covid problems)
- Started solids!

It wasn't a surprise for us to find that Little William is all over solid foods. 😄 He's been enjoying dinner with us, and occasionally lunch.

So far he's tried:
Rice cereal
Oatmeal
Plums
Apples
Avocado (doesn't sit well in his tummy)
Bananas
Yogurt
Potatoes
Watermelon

As we add more solid foods into Little William's diet his nursing feeds will get reduced, but for now we're on an odd sort of feeding schedule. What's important though is that it currently works for our family and with where we're at right now.

Mostly for my own record, our schedule is:
5 or 6am - First feed
7:30am - Awake for the day
9am - Second feed
10-11:45am - First nap
12pm - Third Feed
2pm - Fourth Feed
2:15-4pm - Second Nap
5pm - Fifth Feed
7pm - Sixth Feed
7:15 - Down for the night

And then he'll usually wake up for a feed around 10/11pm, 3am, and then 5/6am.

William loves going in the Jolly Jumper, spinning around and pumping those chunky legs of his.
If the weather is nice I'll often put his exersaucer outside where he can watch all the animals around us and smile at our neighbours as they come and go.

At six months he weighs 23lbs and is 29.5" tall.
In the last three weeks he's learned how to go up on his hands and knees to rock back and forth. I have a feeling we'll have a crawler in the next few days!

Overall he is generally a very smiley little guy who absolutely loves people!

And here's Dee, who always wants in on the photo taking!
It's so special to see these two kiddos actually play and interact together.
