Little William: 1 Year Old!

*Sigh*
This milestone came too fast for us.

Yes, it was so exciting celebrating Little William's first birthday, but it also is so sad seeing our baby so grown up.

12 Things About Little William's 12th Month:

1. We love his facial expressions- his smug look, playful grin, smolder, pout, tired smiles, concentrating furrow, curious eyebrow raise, and the like

2. He gives The. Best. Hugs. With those tubby little toddler arms that can only reach around your neck. And he does a small back pat too which warms my heart so much to feel.

3. He is climbing onto absolutely everything. He doesn't know how to get down yet, but that's no matter. He'll fearlessly dive headlong or barrel roll to get back down. What a guy! Chairs, the couch, Delilah's bed, coffee table, the air purifier, you name it!

4. He pull books of the shelf and sit on the floor and look through them. We have a children's book called, My First Animals, and he loves the page with a cat on one side and a chicken on the other. He'll talk to both of them. "Bobo"(the neighbourhood cat) and "Bak" (for buk-buk, the noise chicken's make) he affectionately calls them. 😊

5. We dropped two nursing feeds so he's down to lunch time, bedtime, and all throughout the middle of the night, because yes, he's still up a few times at night...

6. He's got a third bottom tooth and so his smile is a little lopsided, but still so big and bright!

7. William has officially transitioned to one nap. It's a bit of a struggle for him to make it through the morning, and by 6pm he's ready for bed again, but he's pulling through and hasn't been extra fussy or anything about it. What a champ!

8. He loves to snuggle. Mostly when he's getting ready for his nap, or for a few minutes after he's woken up. But especially around 6am he loves to come into bed with Will and I and he'll switch between cozy up with his dad for a bit, and then his mom.

9. William is a total tank and a bulldozer. He plays quite rough and aggressive in his rough-and-tumble play.

10. When William is tired and ready for bed, he'll find and snuggle a blankie and say, "Ni-ni."
He has actually been very talkative in the last month and also understands so much more of what we say too. It's so amazing to see him developing in this way.

11. William loves playing outside. Especially eating dirt and rocks and sticks and whatnot. If I put his shoes and sweater on, bring him downstairs, and then have the audacity to put him in the truck in his car seat, he will throw a fit!  The kid just wants to play outside.

12. He loves being in the bath, pulling out the drain plug, standing up, and splashing water every which way.

This photoshoot ended with one hundred and twenty-three photos. I couldn't prune them out to only enough to accompany the above words, and I know I'm a little biased, but I think he is quite the handsome little fella...  so here's 14 more 😄

And of course, here's my behind the scenes helper!
The balloon dropper.
A very important roll for this celebratory photoshoot.
