May Long Weekend

We booked ourselves with a full schedule this past long weekend but we also scheduled in a lot of family time and down time.
After an early dinner on Saturday we took the kids to William's Park to play and for a walk.
Delilah requested that we go to Delilah's Park next time. 😄

We haven't been to the playground here before, and while it looks neat, it didn't have too much to offer for younger kids. A lot of climbing things that they don't quite have the skills for yet.

But we found this little slide which was just about prefect.

And leave it to our little daredevil to go down the slide on his knees.
😆
See how proud of himself he looks?

We tried giving the see-saws a go they're too advanced for William.

Will and I paired up with the kids and all four of us had some fun with that.

Then we went to the creek to throw rocks into the water.

William was content to sit and watch. Which I was so grateful for! I was very confident that if he came out he'd wade right into the creek!

Too much going on to stay still for a picture I guess! 😄

We wandered into the Forestry Preschool's campus and checked out a few of the neat play stations they have set up there.

Cotton drifts in the parking lot.

On Monday morning we went to Port Kells Nursery which was a nostalgic visit for me.
My family would come here just about each year in May to prep for planting our garden. Now I got to take my own little family!

These guys were a bit reluctant to come out since it was so rainy but eventually their curiosity got the better of them and they came to say hi.

We were heading over to the check out and Delilah said, "Waaaaait! We have to check out this way!"
She so loved peering at all the flowers

After lunch we went to see Will's co-worker and his wife.
She's bought a coffee trailer that needs a bit of work and Will's brains were needed for picking.
The trailer is parked on a hobby farm right now so we got to see pigs, cows, chickens, ducks, lotssss of goats, donkeys, and dogs. Lots of fun!

Delilah was rather unsure about most of the animals, and especially disgusted by all the poop everywhere! 😄

After that we went to IKEA where Will and Delilah moved furniture around in the display rooms to test out the sofa beds.

We told Dee not to get her boots on the couches. Smart girl just took them off and proceeded to jump all over them!

"I like this one, Mom"

This patio set was screwed down to this display so Will followed Delilah as she clambered up so they could try out the chairs.

And we ended our day with a tailgate picnic of IKEA takeout.

Such a fun weekend that we got to spend together!
