The One With The "Grass and Trees Park"

On Saturday we went to Aldergrove Park to celebrate Chris' birthday.
During our drive there Will and I had to explain to Delilah that this was only a grass and trees kinda park - no playground. Boy, she was sure disappointed!

But once we got there she had Opa to play bubbles with and that made everything better.

We also tried teaching Dee horseshoes but, being the big helper that she is, she kept picking up the thrown shoes and placing them around the stake.

A game would go something like this:
Me: Throws shoe, misses
Delilah: "Oh no! You Missed!" Picks up show and places on stake. "I fixed it!"
Me: "Okay, now it's your turn"
Delilah: Throws shoe, misses
Me: "Aw, too bad, you missed"
Delilah: "It's okay, I fix it!" Runs over to collect shoe and move around the stake.

😆😆😆

Then we drove to Peace Arch Park, yet another playgroundless park to get together with my mom's family. Poor Delilah was so discouraged that we weren't going to a playground!
(She played on a playground that morning, so we didn't feel too bad for her and kept reminding her of all the fun she had had earlier in the day on that playground)

I gave William a slice of watermelon and when I checked in on him in a few minutes he had taken three bites out of the rind and none from the flesh. 😄 Still as happy as could be!
And he's ate watermelon before (even just 1hr previous at his uncle's birthday party) so he does know how to do it, I guess was just wanting to try something new?

Naturally Delilah found a stick 😄

The boarder line to get back into Canada

And the line behind us!
We just beat the rush!
