The Kids' Room

When we first moved into this one bedroom apartment we used the master bedroom closest as Delilah's room and set up William's crib in the corner of our bedroom. Then in May (or was it June?) when we sleep trained William we switched them around, moving him into the closet and Delilah to our bedroom.
Come September they both were sleeping great through the nights. On a whim I thought about squeezing their beds in the closet. We had talked about bunkbeds in the future, but for now want to keep William in his crib. I measured twice and was in complete disbelief. My numbers said the crib and bed would fit. Very doubtfully I gave it a try, and slid their beds perfectly next to each other in the closet!

There is about three inches of wiggle room between their two beds. How perfect is that?

The idea of our kids sleeping in a closet sounds questionable, but the room has plenty of space for them. We replaced the door with a curtain which is very open on the top and sides, and we always have some sort of air circulation in their room whether that is a fan or air purifier.

The slanted roof/wall has provided a bit of a challenge, but it's been workable.
We keep their clothes in a dresser in our bedroom and there are several storage items (diapers, party decorations, baby bassinette) that we keep under their beds.

And in a nutshell that's their whole bedroom.

The bunk bed and redecorating has been on our long and growing list of things to work on. But currently the room is perfectly functional and suits the needs of our family for the time being.

Will asked me a few days ago to start gathering ideas and I told him he could check out my Pinterest board anytime. Little did he know I've been saving inspiration since we first moved in! 😁
We'll see where we end up!
