Boxing Day

On Boxing Day we went to Will's parents after church for our own Christmas festivities.

The week before we had commented how we hadn't had gourmetten together in two years and after a vote we vetoed the idea of a traditional turkey dinner and so enjoyed an evening of cooking together.

We may have made fun of Will for hogging so much of the grill, but he ended up with an impressive plate full of food whereas the rest of us mostly put a few things on the grill, and then ate them right away when finished, then repeated the process.

I thought this omelet looked so pretty in the pan, but it was delicious too!

The kids didn't do any cooking of their own, but they reaped the rewards of other's efforts

After dinner we opened gifts together.

I got Will's name for this gift exchange and decided to gift him a new alarm clock. I wasn't sure which sorts of fancy doodles he'd want so instead of buying one for him I wrapped up his current one and taped this note to it.
The snooze and off buttons on his alarm clock work very intermittently.
On a good day Will has a hard time waking up happy (and so it doesn't seem like I'm not throwing him under the bus, I usually wake up in a frenzied panic. Sleeping is hard, okay? 😆) so you can imagine the frustration that ensues when he is woken up by his alarm and then cannot silence it.
