"Can We Go To That Playground?"

On the way to Will's work is a city park and on the days we drive Will to work we go past this playground four times. FOUR TIMES! Which is a lot when you have a sweet little girl who asks each time, "Can we go to that playground?"
"Pleeeease can we go to that playground?"
"Maybe today we could go to that playground?"
"Do we have time to go to that playground?"
"You could just drop me off there"
Not gonna lie, I've somedays taken a different route during the 2/4 passes that I drive to avoid the questions.
A few months ago we had told Delilah that we would in fact stop at that playground one day. But we had busy schedules, it got dark early in the winter, I don't always have the energy, it rained a whole lot, and then we had James and I don't feel comfortable enough taking three small kids to such a busy playground. Whether you call those excuses or reasons, we didn't go for a long time, and probably could have stopped by but selfishly decided not to.
Well, this week we had a free afternoon and it paired perfectly with the dry skies we were experiencing.

Delilah was overjoyed!

William had fallen asleep in the truck while driving so he was a bit drowsy when we first arrived.

From the street Delilah has been always very intrigued by these swings. Unfortunately they didn't wow her as much in person but they all thought it was a cool have three people swinging at once.

Then William needed a diaper change and while I took him back to the truck for that he noticed this painted horse statue and thought it was so interesting! That perked him right up and he was ready to go and explore after that.

First slide of the day for William

These crazy kids got very bold with their sliding while we were there.
Delilah started going down on her belly, and William tried to go head first a few times. Thankfully Will was standing close by and caught him before he flew face-first into the rubber ground.

Fun Fact: Before we got married Will used to be into rock climber. He'd go bouldering often 3 to 4 times a week!
William was excited by the idea of climbing but couldn't figure out how to use his hands and feet together to move himself upwards. 😆

No fear in William climbing this ladder.

"I'm being so brave but I'm still a bit scared."
In the end Delilah did climb all the way up!

We are so glad we took the time to finally stop at this playground. It is for sure a lot trying to keep tabs on three little people at such a large playground. Will and I agreed we love taking the kids to the playground, but smaller playgrounds are probably the best option for our family right now. 😅
