Weekly Wednesday Wupdate: A Greenhouse, Gardening, and Geese

 Wednesday:
We took this photo to commemorate getting Delilah out of the bathroom after she had locked the door and couldn't unlock it. 🤦 A very stressful situation for me, but we both stayed calm the whole time. I talked her through how to unlock it several times over but it didn't seem like anything was making sense to her. Then she said, "Mom, just let me go pee first." 😆
Ah yes, a full bladder makes thinking straight rather hard.
So we reconvened a minute later and tried a new tactic. She managed to unlock the door and then promised not to lock it ever again. 😅

Thursday:
Delilah and I both love that her hair is growing longer and longer!

Thursday finally was spring-like weather! We had glorious sunshine and temperatures in the high teens. I moved all our seedlings from indoors outside to get some real sun exposure.

We got a greenhouse this week to share with our neighbours. I took Delilah and William out to see it the day after it was set up. Delilah was surprised and a bit confused. "That's not a green house. It's white!" 😆

Friday:
We found a worm in the gravel (mid-left) and it was most interesting for William

Sunday:
First slip'n'slide of the season for Delilah and William.

Monday:
On Monday the kids helped me break ground in our garden patch and we planted some potatoes and corn.

William planted and Delilah covered. It was a cute system.

James had a rough day this past Saturday but other than that he's usually a happy little guy.

Very quick to give a smile and we've been having lots of fun learning what makes him laugh!

Tuesday:
There's a pair of geese who nest each year in an abandoned playhouse in our neighbour's yard. Today they took a stroll through our parking lot which naturally provided us with lots of entertainment.
Delilah came in the house frantically and said, "Mom, there's huge birds walking around! Come see!" I was so confused and honestly was worried it was an eagle as we get those around here a lot. The eagles while the kids play outside makes a tad uneasy... Geese in the parking lot while our kids are up on the patio is totally fine.

They sure look like siblings to me!

We picked up a new bike for Delilah on Tuesday! She's grown so much and her other bike was getting way too small for her to ride.
She's very cautious with pedaling but is eager to keep trying and has improved a lot considering her hesitations.

We had a friend drop off some strawberries for us!
We ate a bunch, saved a few to eat on Wednesday, and the rest got turned into a batch of jam. YUMMY!
