James: Seven Months Old

Our newest edition little trouble maker is already seven months old!

Mr James is On. The. Move.
He is a proficient crawler and tries so hard to keep up with the rest of the kids. He also now crawls after me when he's clingy and upset.

As much as he wants to move, he plays so wonderfully on his own or with the other children. He loves to be with his siblings and friends and they all dote on him and love to include him in their play as well.
James is typically the first kid up in the morning and it is so special seeing his face light up and his excited arm flaps when he spots Delilah and William once they wake up.

James joins us for three meals a day now.
Oatmeal or Cheerios for breakfast, fruit or eggs for lunch, and whatever we're having for dinner. He even had bear meat the other night; not many 7 month olds can say that!
He loves bananas and scrambled eggs. And I've also discovered that giving him a big piece of carrot or apple to gnaw on keeps him busy for a long time.

And if you haven't noticed yet, you'll see it in this photo - he's got something on his left eyelash! Don't worry, it looks like it gets brushed off after this photo.
James cut his first two teeth! The first one appeared a few days after turning six months old, and the second one peeped through just two days ago. Teething has been a bit difficult for him. He doesn't seem to nap or nurse well and is generally cranky. Before the first tooth made its debut I was getting quite exhausted with it all, and then the tooth showed up! And everything made sense! So for the last three weeks as he's been cranky I knew this time that the other one was close. SO glad it's here and hopefully things will calm down for us for a bit.
At least, until the next one.

Some quick facts:
-I left James at home for an extended period of time for the first time
-He loves to stand and walk if you hold his hands
-Wore a size 24m shirt for the first time. Has all 18-24m clothes in his drawer
-Is an adrenaline junkie. Loves getting tossed in the air or flipped upside down
-In that stage now where everything goes into his mouth

James also started pulling himself up to a standing position along furniture. It started with him getting up in his crib and us having to lower the crib mattress. Then, a week later he was caught standing up against the couch! He is sure keeping us on our toes!

We're now throwing out dates when we think he'll be walking! I'm not sure it will be in the next month, but we'll all have to wait and see!
