James: Ten Months Old

How in the world has this little dude been around for 300 days already?!?!

James is very much a momma's boy but is very affectionate to his daddy if I'm not around. He has started to get more snuggly, particularity with Will. No snuggles for me though, he just wants to nurse if he's in a cozy mood.
And he loves to run his hands through Will's beard.

Each night after we finish dinner we do devotions and family worship together. James' face always lights up with a huge smile when we start singing.

James wants so badly to keep up with his older siblings and our daycare friends. He often gets frustrated by his limitations.

When James surprised us by free standing so early on in life we were certain he would be our quickest child to learn to walk, but at ten months old he's holding steady at a max of six steps. Delilah is holding to her story of seeing him walk seven, but we're not sure if that's the truth or she is trying to one-up us.

Has seven teeth. His new three just popped through out of nowhere! Two one week and the other the next week. I was so surprised to see them and relieved that it did not come with the crankiness of the first four.

During the past month we had to put childlocks on the kitchen cupboards for his own safety and to put an end to the constant dumpster diving, pulling the glass cookware out of the cupboard onto our tile floor, and all the other exciting things he was finding in there.

James has been transitioning from two naps to one. It's been rocky, but we try our best to just go with the flow.
And with all the changes to his sleep patterns during the day, he has been less consistent with sleeping through the nights and often will revert back to his original snack time of 4am.
Despite the unknowns of his sleeping, I do know that he goes to sleep for the night really well. I get him all ready for bed, nurse him, and then put him in his crib where he scotches around to get comfy and then goes to sleep quickly on his own.

We're rapidly approaching the ONE YEAR mark, what more will James be up to in the next two months? Stay tuned to find out!
