James' First Birthday!

On Sunday James turned ONE!

He really didn't understand what was going on at all, but thought us singing Happy Birthday was silly and he loved all the balloons we had around.

We celebrated as our own family on Sunday over lunch. I love his scrunchy face, it looks here as though he is trying politely to hide his disgust for the gift we got him.

Will and I both thought that a play tunnel was the best idea ever and that he would have such a hoot with it.
Nah uh.
While he liked the idea of it, James would not enter the tunnel.

We tried putting balloons in to entice him, but he just laughed at those.

We sent William and Delilah through to show him how it works...

...And that was just so hilarious, why would James even bother to go in himself when he could be so entertained by our trying to convince him?

Running to the other end to check for Delilah

Opening his card from great-grandma Faber

He actually seemed very intrigued by the card. The stickers ended up in his mouth pretty quickly.

We had a pizza party for him.
Here's his little cupcake decorated as a pizza.
The rest of us just had plain cake though. It's much easier to decorate one cupcake and leave it at that. 😉

It took him a bit to figure out what he wanted to do with it

Yum YUM!

Time for presents!
On Sunday we had our Vanspronsen family over for a pizza dinner and then on Monday the Faber fam came over.

Our baby is one.
What a wild thing to ponder on!
