Weekly Wednesday Wupdate: Books, Bear, and Bubbles

Wednesday:
Vacuum buddies

When post nap snuggles coincide with the after work shuteye

Mozzy getting rides in the dump truck.

Thursday:
Will left for a hunting trip on Thursday evening and I spied him and Delilah sharing an extra long goodbye hug. She was so relieved that he was only going to be gone for two nights

Friday:
We had two daycare birthdays this week so there were balloons around and James had a blast running around with them in his dump truck.
(And see how we have to lie all our chairs on the floor so James doesn't climb onto the table?)

A snuggle for Mom

The big kids turned the playpen sideways and James through it was pretty silly.

Lunch time feels like my most haywire time of the day but then I see them contentedly eating and chatting with one another and it's all worth it in the end.

Most have looked like a good spot to read a book

Recruiting Delilah to read them books

James' first ice cream cone!

So much fun with a diaper box

I was reading this book with Delilah and William before they went to bed and we noticed two errors with the picture. Specifically with the playground. See if you can spot them.

Saturday:
Another round of ice cream cones

When Will came home on Saturday night he sadly was unsuccessful in his hunt, but did pick up the shoulder mount from the bear he got last year

The kids were so excited to get to pet it

James' first reaction was to give it a little noseboop/kiss

After dinner Delilah and William went outside and as I set James on the ground after taking him out of his highchair I assumed he'd dart out there too, but he turn around and went right for the bear which was casually sitting in the rocking chair.

Who woulda thought we'd have a bear on our wall, not me! But after Will put this up I told him we'd need more to bring the theme all together. And it's not nearly as weird as I thought it would be to have an animal hanging on the wall.

Mozzy took a day to get used to it. He slinked around the living room at first, smelling and checking it out, and then hid in the bathroom until that night when we moved him to our bedroom and then Sunday morning we moved him back to the bathroom.  We were gone all day Sunday and put a blanket over the bear to help Mozzy get used to it. By Sunday evening he was walking around again.

Sunday:
While waiting at the van for Will after the church service William found a few shotgun shells from the hunting trip and he turned them into finger puppets.

Monday:

The neighbours joined us and I whipped up some bubble foam for the kids to play with

The washed the railings, painted the side of the house, covered some toy animals, painted their arms and legs, and here they are making dough. They didn't know what type, just dough.

Will had the remaining skin of his bear tanned and it is so thick and fluffy.
Although he got this bear in June, with the late spring we had last year the bear (I've named him Timothy) still had his winter coat. The kids love burying their faces and rubbing their hands through the fur.

A perfect nap spot maybe?

Tuesday:
Helping unload the dryer

It took them a bit to catch on to the humour, and there's a few things Will and I have to explain to them, but overall they find him pretty amusing

The problem with the playground picture from the book was that there was no way for the children to get up to the slide. No ladders or stairs or anything.
Also, the farthest back support leg for the tower on the left side doesn't extend to the ground. It just stops behind the structure and doesn't continue down like the others.
