WWW: A Few Birthdays and A Birth!

Thursday:
Singing while walking in the morning sunshine

We were trying to throw sticks down into the creek from our driveway but there were too many brambles in the way for the sticks to make it to the water.

Later in the afternoon we did a 'sink or float' experiment which every one was very interested with

We tested the items one by one and then at the end put them all in the bowl together to see what was common between all the sinking things and all the floating things, and I didn't realise it at the time, but I took this photo juuust as James was snatching out the floating marshmallow to eat!
As we were rebreifing each item and got to the marshmallow on the list I asked generally where did the marshmallow go? And James immediately said, "Mouth!" and pointed to his mouth while opening it wide.
What a stinker!

Saturday:

On Saturday evening we went to celebrate my Grandpa F's 80th birthday.

Almost had the whole family there.
1 child and 2 spouses were missing by my count, but with two honourary immediate family members filling in it just about evens out.

Sunday:
We were all so excitedly looking forward to this Sunday visit - Baby Arden born to Chris and Ally this past week!
Our kiddo's first cousin and the first time Will and I are uncle and aunt!
Ahh, we were all so thrilled at her arrival and getting to meet her!

Over the last few days James kept saying "Baby Aryn, Baby Aryn" but of course once we got there he was as quiet as could be

Delilah got the most baby snuggles in our visit and is just smitten with this little girlie

The boys had less continued interest in Arden and soon moved on to watching the snow fall.

Will snatched her up before I was even in the house all the way which I felt was a little unfair but it's adorable seeing how excited he's been to become an uncle.

Over at my parents' house we celebrated Jonah's birthday!

And James got another early birthday gift - his excited expressions make me smile every time

Monday:
For school on Monday Delilah asked to do a sewing project so we dug through our scrap pile and found an old shirt she was able to turn into a little pocket. She also got the idea later that it could be used as a baby hat, and she's right! It's about the perfect size and a bit stretchy. So we'll see if she'll want to gift it to an expecting momma or newborn baby.

This crane truck was of course a big hit for the boys who sat outside with their snacks to watch the work getting done.

Another present James received - a remote control car.
He's hilarious with it and typically chases it as he haphazardly drives it around the house

Oh, and it goes under the couch quite frequently and he doesn't understand yet how to drive it back out so crawling underneath has been a common occurrence
Once James was in bed on Monday night Delilah and William eagerly helped me decorate the house for his birthday. The two of them worked together to get all the balloons blown up and all I had to do was tie them.
