Ramble at the River

Will took some time off from work surrounding Easter and we were able to go on a family road trip and holiday for six days.

I'll have more photos to come but for now here's a peek into Monday morning when we took a walk from our AirBnB down to the river.

Not all of the trail was stroller friendly, but Will made it!

We walked through the forest and then carefully climbed and passed down the kids down the bank so we could get down to the shore.

Delilah was the most cautious to be walking around on the rocky shore, but that was a welcomed behaviour as I was certain William was going to fall into the water several different times.

He was clambering all about and picking ice out of the water to throw it onto the rocks

Skipping rocks and seeing who could make the biggest splash.

This little inlet was all frozen over so we tried skipping little pebbles on top of the ice, until that got old and we changed tune and just shattered the ice as much as possible.

See Will's hand on James' jacket? If we weren't holding him he'd tip right over headlong into the water.

Our best effort at a family photo

William scrambled back up the bank way ahead of the rest of us. He's sure a fast and confident climber!

It was only 7℃ this morning but with the sunshine and dry air we all shed our jackets once we left the windy river.

Stay tuned for more photos as I find the time to share!
