Last week Sunday was Mother's Day.
It was a beautiful sunny spring day and so between church services we packed a picnic lunch to enjoy outside, something the kids and I do on weekdays but we haven't had Will on one of these picnics before.
It was joyful way to spend our lunch hour in the grassy shade, listening to the birds, and being together as a family.
After we finished eating the kids brought me dozens of buttercups, but mostly just the decapitated heads with no stems.
Sweetly enough there were five with adequate stems to gather into a darling posy to grace the kitchen counter with.
Five little buds for the five dear children I've been blessed to mother.
In the evening we went on a walk with some extended family
