We were able to take a trip down to the Valley this past week and I've got so many photos they'll be coming out in three posts.
Wednesday:
Learning to draw a rabbit as part of our book study on The Tale of Benjamin Bunny
Clara is allllllmost rolling over. Her poor head is just a bit too heavy and her pesky shoulder often gets in the way.
Thursday:
I pulled out a box of books from storage so we'd have some 'new' books for our drive. They also kept the kids quietly occupied for a good portion of the afternoon while I packed.
Friday:
4:30am and we are ready to go!
A little sunrise coming through the clouds.
All the snow covered ever greens were so beautiful
No snow through the canyon, but James was keeping a keen eye out for trains
There's one!
The kids made a ginger bread house with Madilyn, Ben, and Jonah
So much candy packed on there!
Saturday:
Baker boys helping Grandma make brownies
Will in his natural habitat
On Saturday afternoon we went to visit Will's old co-worker, Ian. He lives along the water at White Rock and with the King Tide and stormy weather we had quite the show from his house. We were hoping to go for a walk with the kids down the pier but stayed to chat for too long.
Mr Ian has no children so we packed an armful of books for our kids and hoped for the best. They were impeccable! Will and I were so grateful (and relieved) that they were able to sit and read for the hour+ we spent there.
Lots of trees and branches down everywhere from the wind storm, and as the worst was coming to an end we saw a rainbow.
With the power out we opened Christmas presents by candle light (and whatever other battery powered lights were found on hand)
