Clara: Six Months Old

Half a year of this cutie bringing joy into our every day.

The name Clara means 'Bright' and that truely is her personality. So bright and cheery.
Sure, she can have her cranky moments, but she typically is a very happy baby.

In the last month she has a worming army-crawl figured out and using that can get anywhere she wants to go.

Clara also goes on hands and knees to rock back and forth and will go up, flop forward, and repeat.
She's not pat-pat crawling on hands and knees yet, but I imagine I'll be sharing that next month!

These hands are very busy putting anything within reach in her mouth.
This past month she has learned how tasty paper is and will make a beeline for paper over any toys. Books, boxes, stray colouring sheets, anything of the sort must be chopped on.

With the freedom of movement found in crawling Clara has discovered that there are sometimes food scraps she can scavenge for under the table. Thankfully she's a bit slow to get there so we can remove whatever it is she's heading for before she gets there, but that does frustrate her a bit.

We've dabbled in some solid foods and so far she's had:
Carrots, peas, avocado, banana, black beans, egg yolk, and a lick of icecream
She's been doing pretty great with the self feeding spoon and it's so fun watching her get to use those.

Notes:
- Naps are going great, 2-3 a day, typically, roughly every 3hr
- Nights are roughly 8-8 with the first 2-3hrs being in her own bed and the remainder in the far superior big bed
- She is just shy of 20 pounds (2oz under) and in 12m clothes
- Had a coughing cold for a week and a bit
- Loves playing in the bath
- Went on a plane for the first time
- Get's called Clarabelle and Clarda often. James still says Cara which we all find endearing

It is such a wonderful thing hearing Delilah and William talk so frequently about how they are so happy that God answered their prayers for another baby. I hope they never lose this very tangible feeling that God does hear our prayers and has a good plan for our lives.
Thank you Lord for Clara 🩷
