WWW: There's So Much Joy

The kids and I walked to the general store for some milk and meat to fill in the gaps after our camping trip and tide us over until our next grocery run. It was such a lovely morning for a walk with the sun shining (but not too hot!) and the birds chirping all around.

A friend from church grew these beautiful flowers!
I was chatting with her about them and she said how she feels a little guilty growing them as flowers are not as productive as a vegetable garden. I said that the beauty of flowers certainly have their place and Jesus even used them as an example to remind us not to worry.

And low and behold, on Monday at lunch time devotions I opened up the children's Bible and what story did we find ourselves on? Of course that same passage of the Bible which speaks of the flowers!
What are the chances?!?

What a privilege to enjoy such beauty on our dining table!

Shady afternoons in the yard have been a highlight of my days. I'm looking forward to learning how the sun will cross over our new property and where the cool spots will be in our soon-to-be backyard.

Clara cruising through the kitchen. Towels pulled off the stove handle, pantry drawers open, and although it's not pictured, she's rearranging and stealing things from those drawers too.

"It's just a quick drive, you won't need shoes" turned into a walk at a friend's house. Will pulled out many slivers from the kids feet that night. Oops...

This conversation between Delilah and William in their make-believe world was so cute to overhear. It's such a blessing to know that this is the attitude they are picking up from Will and I and recreating in their imaginary families.

Our small-but-mighty pool sure has gotten its fair wear this summer. I especially love how it is the perfect size for Clara while also providing hours of entertainment for the older children.

Delilah and William spent a good portion of the day planning and rehearsing three songs to perform for us. They song In Christ Alone, Psalm 136, and The Apostles' Creed which are all current favourites of all three of the kiddos.
