Clara's monthly photos were a bit of a bust this time around. Not only do we not have the same grey rug that I used as the backdrop for all of her previous photos, but she refused to lay down for any picture taking.
This mid-roll photo is the best I could get before she was on her stomach, to hands and knees, to standing.
Standing is how we find Clara most of the time these days. Standing and then WALKING around everywhere! She's got the little toddle down pat and it is just the cutest thing ever.
Walking at 10 months is right around average for our children so it didn't surprise us to see her wanting to keep up with the big kids and walking all about.
She loves to play peekaboo and will be sitting there with a blanket on her head, waiting for someone to say, "Where's Clara?"
Clara tries to cover her face with her hands to do peekaboo too, but does it in the cutest little baby way with a very minimal amount of face coverage.
She is snuggley with her Lainey Lamb and likes her dolls. Clara also loves to look at books, push around cars and trains, and put anything into something else.
Clara doesn't have much hair yet, but she does love to have it brushed.
Clara has been sleeping better in the evenings and typically sleeps the whole evening now once she's been put to bed. We somewhat have a nap routine sorta figured out now which looks usually like a noon nap and a late afternoon nap. They both are usually around 45 minutes and that's all. Or sometimes an 1.5hr noon nap and then that'll be it for the day.
She has also just started being able to be put down awake and she'll snuggle up with her blankie and lamb and go to sleep on her own. Most of the time. Not all the time though.
She nurses on demand during the day, which mostly ends up being four times or so.
I don't know what you call it, but she'll strum her fingers across her mouth to make a 'blub blub' sorta sound. Except she doesn't just do it over her mouth, but usually starts up at her forehead and pulls her hand all the way down her face to get over her lips.
Loves dogs and cats. She's been saying dog and cat in the previous month, but I don't think I wrote about that. She will say "Hi Gog" or "WooWoo" (woof woof) for dogs. 'Cat' sounds pretty much just like how it should. And she says 'Kids' now too which sounds like 'Ides'
Can be such a Daddy's girl. Needs some snuggles from Will when he's home from work and how dare Mom try to cuddle with Dad before Clara has had her turn.
We figured out that she likes bearded men and will often break out in terrified cries if a clean shaven man tries to talk to her.
Clara really enjoys playing with water and will crawl into the shower in hopes that someone might turn it on for her.
She is very happy to be outside and if she's out in the grass she will try to blow on any flower, not just dandelions.
As the fourth, she always wants to be where the big kids are and doing what they're doing.
Clara is a joy and a delight and it is so wild that she will be turning ONE in just a few weeks!
