Thursday:
Aren't these four siblings just the cutest?!?
Friday:
Flipping the picnic table upside down has opened a whole new world of imaginative play for the kids. I love to see it!
Monday:
There's a lot of road work going on in our neck of the woods these last few weeks. On our walk on Monday we went past where a grader and this roller were parked. The kids were very fascinated to walk up to the them (but not to touch, I warned. And they all listened well) and have a closer inspection of the machinery.
Delilah and William asked to walk on this quad trail that ran parallel to the road. I didn't think that the stroller would have a good time, but I gave them permission to do it together. I told them they had to stay in line with me and stick together. They were both so excited and nervous to go off together. William armed himself with a stick and held Delilah's hand and they had so much fun walking 'on their own'.
Always eager to help, James swept sand off the trailer skirting for me as I was rolling it up.
And always eager, but much less helpful, here is Clara taking clothes out of a bag after I so neatly folded them and placed them in there. Just not far enough out of her reach.
Tuesday:
On Tuesday morning Clara decided that rubbing her banana at breakfast in her hair was a good idea. It sure was entertaining for us all, and gave a good visual of her little side pieces she has of longer hair. Still very bald on the top, but we trust it'll come in eventually. At least she's cute without hair, hey?
We've been having a blast watching this little squirrel gathering food for his winter stores. This afternoon we saw him dutifully run back and forth at least twenty times. One direction skipping along as fast as he can go before suddenly darting off into the woods. We can sometimes see branches swaying as he hops around in there. Then just as quickly as he got off the fence, he pops on again. Now holding something tightly in his mouth as he runs, a bit slower this time, back to the other end of the yard where he darts into the forest again, presumably to hide away his treats for the winter.
My evening walk to the mailbox is not a daily ritual, but is always an enjoyable few minutes of peace and quiet at the end of a busy day. This sunset was so beautiful to walk towards on my way back home.
