Old House, meet New House. New House, Old House.
"Hello?!? Anybody home?"
My parents and a bunch of kids came to visit.
The kids slept on their RV mattresses on our bedroom floor and while Delilah and William protested sleeping so close to each other they fell asleep just fine and I took this photo (and another of them snuggled together) to show them in the morning that they really do like each other.
Saturday:
We woke on Saturday to a little snowfall
Going for some quad rides
I remember Delilah having a favourite puddle as a toddler that she would always walk over to and splash in. Here is Clara's favourite puddle.
A big wrestling party. Seven kids and Grandpa is in there somewhere...
Oh Clara, what a silly girly you are.
Grandma with a calmer activity
The rest of the gang went with Will on a mission to find the back of our property. He had gone out once with a buddy but they only had an hour and got about a third of the way through.
It was neat to see all the different types of forests we have!
There are two (that we've found so far) cliffs
And they made it to the back of the property!
One neighbour's field.
Found some more vehicles down a road
And a fence made of huge tires
Sunday:
Someone took my phone and snapped several photos on Sunday
And I guess it was time for us all to reassess our strength with an arm wrestle. I could beat Mom but couldn't beat Nadia...
Monday:
Kitchen sink views
Tuesday:
We got a coupon for a free carwash so we took the kids through and it was such a highlight for them. We go through a carwash maaaybe once a year, so this was a big deal.
A bit more snow again.
Thursday:
Queen Delilah
And Princess Clara, Lordesses of the Tire Shop
Another view of our middle yard
Friday:
Grocery pickup always has the three big kids hanging over the back bench chatting it up with the delivery guy.
We hosted a Reformation Roast on Friday night which involved s'mores and a hymn sing which followed the 5 Solas.
Right as I was about to bring all the prepared food outside it started to rain and while we were humming and hawing back and forest about weather or not to stick it out outdoors or move inside the rain did gratefully subside. We set up the food on the tailgate of the 4Runner, which wasn't ideal, but it kept everything dry.
Very special to be able to host friends on our own property and worship the Lord together.
