Playing Catch Up: October 15-17

Wednesday:

We have roughly two dozen trees on two sides of the house which I'm sure will provide lots of shade in the summer and be wonderful, but right now for the winter they were blocking out a lot of light and we had to walk around them so Will trimmed all the lower branches so we can walk freely now.

A friend had a day off and came to do some dump runs for us. This is the backyard of the second house, which I am aware is still pretty messy, but it is three dump runs better than it was!

Space to run!

This is James' tire shop

It has a wide variety of different sizes and conditions which has been entertaining

Oh I could stare at these trees all day...

And add my hubby to the picture, what more could I ask for?

October 15 is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day and with the work that I do for Hope Box Canada I was right in the feels with old grief, new grief, my own grief, and everyone else's. This candle was a gift from a friend who has lost many babies and so it seemed like a fitting one to light for the Wave Of Light, and this letter board had a very suitable verse on it too. A good reminder that we do not have strength of our own, but from the Lord.

At our dinner devotions as a family we are currently reading through the creeds and confessions that we hold to as Reformed Christians. And look at which article we were reading at dinner that night!
Coincidence? No way.
I know that God arranged for that to line up perfectly. What an amazing testimony of His comfort in our lives.

Thursday:
I went to microwave my tea for the second time on Thursday morning, only to find Will's microwaved coffee sitting there. Can you tell we've been busy?

This kitchen cupboard didn't have a knob so we bought a new one and James got the task of putting it on. He loves to help and feels very purposeful when given a job to do.

And we can see rainbows here!!!

Can you see that James is following a sound? He's listening for something...

Will was starting to make a trail for us in the brush and the kids and I followed the sound of his bush cutter.

If only one set of paws are on the stairs does it reeeeaaallly count as being on the stairs? The doggos think not.

Friday:
Our last Friday afternoon at the park for the season. The kids (and I) got a royal treatment as they and all the things we bought along (diaper bag, snacks, etc) were loaded from the van into two wagons and pulled to the playground. I simply had to follow.

We wanted to get this ditch cleared out before the winter which meant there was lots of brush to clear away. Who needs a tractor when you've got a lawnmower that can pull a trailer? The boys had a good time working on loading the trailer with all the branches Will was cutting.

And ending the day with a fun game
