Our car accident was on a Friday and we were scheduled to move the next Saturday. In the week in between lots of people asked us, "So, what's the plan with your move?"
And we truthfully didn't know how to respond as we'd been taking things day by day with my recovery. Will was blessed with the whole week off from work, so regardless of my condition, we figured that the show must go on and we'd see what we could get done on the Saturday as planned.
This is how the highway looked as we were driving to our new property. So beautiful!!
Oh Fall, I am so in love!
And how amazing is it that this is the road we get to live on??!?! So beautiful!!!
We weren't sure exactly what to be expecting as we arrived at our new place. We knew there would for sure be some things left behind by the old owners, we just didn't know if we'd be faced with a yard and two houses full of items, or a handful of things left. Thankfully it was closer to the ladder, but still remarkable at how unprepared folks can be after having 3.5 months knowing this was possession day.
We had scheduled our friends to come an hour after we got possession so that we'd have some time to walk around as a family and to come up with a game plan once we had assessed what we were up against.
This was the worst of what was left behind. So actually not all too bad.

Off to check out the other house!

Home!
It was so much fun to see the kids all running through the empty house
James was too busy running to want to pause for a photo
And these fall colours were absolutely amazing!

Just in utter and complete awe that is ours!
While the ladies cleaned and the men moved I was on timeout. Everyone was in on the scheme to not allow me to do anything. Which was good and I (mostly) accepted it, but it felt silly to sit and watch everyone else working. I was glad when a nine-month pregnant friend arrived and also was banished to sit in the living room with me so at least I had some company.
William really wanted to help clean the house.
He has such a servant heart and is good at spotting tasks that need to be done.
Some of the living room coming together!
Dinning room
We cleaned the carpets in the bedrooms so they weren't ready for furniture to move in yet
I usually run a book rotation for the kids books but all of them got unpacked (very minor thing, not even an issue in my opinion) so the kids were excited to see all the 'new' books and eager to look at them all.
Also some 'new' toys came out
And a bit of a look at the kitchen at the end of the day.
We were so thankful to all our friends who jumped into the craziness with us and helped get so much accomplished in just one afternoon.
