Christmas Day brought around a full house with the Bredenhof clan.

And of course you can't have a Bredenhof gathering without playing The Name Game.

Then onto the late night party - a high stress, hilarious game of Code Names.

Both William and James have been growing their hair out for Uncle Pete to cut it when we were here

When Delilah woke up on Boxing Day morning she told me she was ready to go back to Prince George, to the snow. So I wasn't surprised when we arrived at Ian's for a visit and the older kids lined up to watch the snow falling on an inside-out cabin that must be AI generated

Out the window there was no snow but a beautiful ocean view. Not something you'd find in PG, that's for sure!

That evening we went to the Vanspronsens' for Christmas festivities

Clara was very excited about the animal book she was gifted

That weird time between Christmas and NewYears where eating absurd amounts of brie on sandwich bread with raspberry jam is perfectly acceptable.

The three girls getting ready for bed

And Monday morning we were off for home again!

It snowed a lot over Christmas (thankfully our drive down was pretty clear!) so we were limited to about 60-80km/hr for the majority of the drive.

Saw lots and lots of these guys!

For both our drives to the Valley and back we had budgeted in two days each way for travel as we just weren't sure how the roads would be. Due to the icy roads we wanted to do the drive in the daylight, which is difficult when you have so few daylight hours and are driving so slow, but on our way home we reached Quensel just as the sun was thinking of setting and the roads were pretty typical so we figured we do make the remaining leg of the journey that same day.
I took this photo when the light pollution of PG came into view. Will is very passionate about light pollution (ask him about it sometime ;P) so that's why this scene was worth taking a photo of.

Home sweet home!
Enjoying our new couch!

My emotional support trees that I fell in love with in the fall look just as stunning in the winter!
Though I have to admit, the snow covered branches look much better against a blue sky, but the falling snow is sure special too.

All ready pulling out Christmas presents to play with

Clara got gifted a matching bunny doll to what Delilah already had. Now the sisters have toy sisters!

I heard Clara coming down the hall towards my bedroom sounding very upset about something. "Ooo, ooo!" She said with a furrow in her brow, gesturing back down where she came from.
"Okay, show me." And I followed her to the kitchen, where she showed me pencil scribbles on the cupboard doors. She wiped at them with her hand and was frustrated that the marks weren't coming off. Never mind the incriminating pencil she was holding in her hand... 😆
