Camping 2020! Day 1

We went camping this year at Scotch Creek Provincial Park in Shuswap, BC with my parents and siblings.

Unlike last year where we were perfectly packed, we forgot a whole host of items this year. Typically I would begin making lists and packing a week or two before hand, but with two littles underfoot packing for camping was just not a priority.

We began packing Friday and Saturday, then a few last minute things on Monday morning. As we were heading out the door I kept stalling, grabbing another thing or two, and telling Will that I was certain we were forgetting something (and we were - lots of things 😜) but he kindly reminded me of my mom's pre-trip saying, "For anything else there's Visa!" And so with the lingering feeling of missing something, and the comfort of having credit cards to buy whatever it was that we'd be needing, we hit the road for our first holiday as a family of four!

I was very proud of myself for packing clothes for all four of us (including diapers/wipes/swim diapers for the kids) into this bin! We even came home with 30 extra diapers 😛

We were going to bring a utility trailer along this year, but pulled the sailboat instead. Thankfully Will was able to pack a lot of things on the boat and trailer so we had a fair amount of open space inside our car still.

20 minutes behind our goal departure time, and still needing to stop for gas, but we DID IT!

Delilah was being her usual self - a total ham - and kept pretending to go to sleep on her pillow.

We made two stops on our drive up (one for nursing, and one for lunch) and got to the campsite around 1:30.

Apart from Little William getting hungry, both kids were very well behaved on the drive and we are so grateful for that!

Will was climbing all sorts of tiny trees to get ropes for the tarps up. He even was up such a small tree that it was bending to the ground from his weight!
